Flesh and Blood Cannot Possess the Kingdom of God!

My Friends, how often do we find ourselves frustrated and anxious? I have read of many who labor for our Lord who become so frustrated and so worn that they leave their ministry. We must understand and persevere, remember that this is the job of the evil one, to wear down the saints;

25 And he shall speak words against the High One, and shall crush the saints of the most High: and he shall think himself able to change times and laws, and they shall be delivered into his hand until a time, and times, and half a time. 26 And judgment shall sit, that his power may be taken away, and be broken in pieces, and perish even to the end. 27 And that the kingdom, and power, and the greatness of the kingdom, under the whole heaven, may be given to the people of the saints of the most High: whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all kings shall serve him, and shall obey him. 28 Hitherto is the end of the word.

We must at all times remember where we are from and where we are attempting to go and the manner in which we must achieve this. Pray always, seek the wisdom that is from God in order to handle the stress and strain that comes with serving our Lord in the many different ways that we may serve or attempt to serve. We are human, our Lord knows this, We must persevere in faith, pray for strength and guidance. May Almighty God have mercy on us all.

47 The first man was of the earth, earthly: the second man, from heaven, heavenly. 48 Such as is the earthly, such also are the earthly: and such as is the heavenly, such also are they that are heavenly. 49 Therefore as we have borne the image of the earthly, let us bear also the image of the heavenly.

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot possess the kingdom of God: neither shall corruption possess incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall all indeed rise again: but we shall not all be changed. 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall rise again incorruptible: and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption; and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 And when this mortal has put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? 56 Now the sting of death is sin: and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who has given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast and unmoveable; always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Praise the Lord in His Holy Places!

My Friends,

Heed the word; glory to God in the highest. Praise Him above all. But let us seek true wisdom and understanding. Have we indeed purged ourselves? We must remember during our celebration to also keep watch so that the evil one does not re-enter, then praise God and feast.

6 Your glorying is not good. Know you not that a little leaven corrupts the whole lump? 7 Purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new paste, as you are unleavened. For Christ our Pasch is sacrificed. 8 Therefore let us feast, not with the old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

1 Alleluia. PRAISE the Lord in his holy places: praise him in the firmament of his power. 2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to the multitude of his greatness. 3 Praise him with sound of trumpet: praise him with psaltery and harp. 4 Praise him with timbrel and choir: praise him with strings and organs. 5 Praise him on high sounding cymbals: praise him on cymbals of joy: 6 let every spirit praise the Lord. Alleluia.

A Vow is Paid in Jerusalem!

A vow is paid in Jerusalem, blessed is the one who has been chosen and taken to the Father for He shall dwell in HIS courts.

1 To the end, a psalm of David. The canticle of Jeremias and Ezechiel to the people of the captivity, when they began to go out. 2 A HYMN, O God, becomes you in Sion: and a vow shall be paid to you in Jerusalem. 3 O hear my prayer: all flesh shall come to you. 4 The words of the wicked have prevailed over us: and you will pardon our transgressions. 5 Blessed is he whom you have chosen and taken to you: he shall dwell in your courts. We shall be filled with the good things of your house; holy is your temple, 6 wonderful in justice. Hear us, O God our saviour, who is the hope of all the ends of the earth, and in the sea afar off. 7 You who prepares the mountains by your strength, being girded with power: 8 who troubles the depth of the sea, the noise of its waves. The Gentiles shall be troubled, 9 and they that dwell in the uttermost borders shall be afraid at your signs: you shall make the outgoings of the morning and of the evening to be joyful. 10 You have visited the earth, and have plentifully watered it; you have many ways enriched it. The river of God is filled with water, you have prepared their food: for so is its preparation. 11 Fill up plentifully the streams thereof, multiply its fruits; it shall spring up and rejoice in its showers. 12 You shall bless the crown of the year of your goodness: and your fields shall be filled with plenty. 13 The beautiful places of the wilderness shall grow fat: and the hills shall be girded about with joy, 14 The rams of the flock are clothed, and the vales shall abound with corn: they shall shout, yea they shall sing a hymn.

I have gone astray like a sheep that is lost

My friends, I am simply posting a very small portion of the readings for today from the Breviary. They require no explanation, pray for mercy and salvation.

ALEPH
1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.
2 Blessed are they who search his testimonies: that seek him with their whole heart.
3 For they that work iniquity, have not walked in his ways.
4 You have commanded your commandments to be kept most diligently.
5 O! that my ways may be directed to keep your justifications.
6 Then shall I not be confounded, when I shall look into all your commandments.
7 I will praise you with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned the judgments of your justice.
8 I will keep your justifications: O! do not you utterly forsake me.

TAU
169 Let my supplication, O Lord, come near in your sight: give me understanding according to your word.
170 Let my request come in before you; deliver you me according to your word.
171 My lips shall utter a hymn, when you shall teach me your justifications.
172 My tongue shall pronounce your word: because all your commandments are justice.
173 Let your hand be with me to save me; for I have chosen your precepts.
174 I have longed for your salvation, O Lord; and your law is my meditation.
175 My soul shall live and shall praise you: and your judgments shall help me.
176 I have gone astray like a sheep that is lost: seek your servant, because I have not forgotten your commandments.

Praise the Lord at all times!

My friends, at all times and in all places we should be praising the Lord. To praise God is our purpose. What were we told at the time of creation? And God blessed them, saying: Increase and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and all living creatures that move upon the earth. This is what we are tasked with, this is our job and yet what about our Creator? We learn again in the psalms;

1 Alleluia. PRAISE the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the high places. 2 Praise him, all his angels: praise him, all his hosts. 3 Praise him, O sun and moon: praise him, all you stars and light. 4 Praise him, you heavens of heavens: and let all the waters that are above the heavens 5 praise the name of the Lord. For he spoke, and they were made: he commanded, and they were created. 6 He has established them for ever, and for ages of ages: he has made a decree, and it shall not pass away. 7 Praise the Lord from the earth, you dragons, and all you deeps: 8 Fire, hail, snow, ice, stormy winds which fulfill his word: 9 Mountains and all hills, fruitful trees and all cedars: 10 Beasts and all cattle: serpents and feathered fowls: 11 Kings of the earth and all people: princes and all judges of the earth: 12 Young men and maidens: let the old with the younger, praise the name of the Lord: 13 for his name alone is exalted. 14 The praise of him is above heaven and earth: and he has exalted the horn of his people. A hymn to all his saints: to the children of Israel, a people approaching to him. Alleluia.

We know that by Him all things were created and for that, creation itself praises God. There is no other name to glory in or to praise other than our Creator. Praise Him in the morning, praise Him in the afternoon, praise Him in the evening. Sing praises to our Lord.

1 A psalm of David when he was in the desert of Edom. 2 O GOD, my God, to you do I watch at break of day. For you my soul has thirsted; for you my flesh, O how many ways! 3 In a desert land, and where there is no way, and no water: so in the sanctuary have I come before you, to see your power and your glory. 4 For your mercy is better than lives: you my lips shall praise. 5 Thus will I bless you all my life long: and in your name I will lift up my hands. 6 Let my soul be filled as with marrow and fatness: and my mouth shall praise you with joyful lips. 7 If I have remembered you upon my bed, I will meditate on you in the morning: 8 because you have been my helper. And I will rejoice under the covert of your wings: 9 my soul has stuck close to you: your right hand has received me. 10 But they have sought my soul in vain, they shall go into the lower parts of the earth: 11 They shall be delivered into the hands of the sword, they shall be the portions of foxes. 12 But the king shall rejoice in God, all they shall be praised that swear by him: because the mouth is stopped of them that speak wicked things.

Shall not my soul be subject to God?

My friends,

The words speak for themselves. God, He is Savior, He is Protector, He is Salvation. There is no other name in which we may be saved. Jesus the Christ is Lord. Learn patience, trust in God for all things are in His hands. We in turn will be paid according to our works; whether good or bad. We must stay the course with faith and perseverance. God is a just God.

1 Unto the end, for Idithun, a psalm of David. 2 Shall not my soul be subject to God? for from him is my salvation. 3 For he is my God and my savior: he is my protector, I shall be moved no more. 4 How long do you rush in upon a man? you all kill, as if you were thrusting down a leaning wall, and a tottering fence. 5 But they have thought to cast away my price; I ran in thirst: they blessed with their mouth, but cursed with their heart. 6 But be you, O my soul, subject to God: for from him is my patience. 7 For he is my God and my savior: he is my helper, I shall not be moved. 8 In God is my salvation and my glory: he is the God of my help, and my hope is in God. 9 Trust in him, all you congregation of people: pour out your hearts before him. God is our helper for ever. 10 But vain are the sons of men, the sons of men are liars in the balances: that by vanity they may together deceive. 11 Trust not in iniquity, and cover not robberies: if riches abound, set not your heart upon them. 12 God has spoken once, these two things have I heard, that power belongs to God, 13 and mercy to you, O Lord; for you will render to every man according to his works.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy.

So, my friends,

What can we say to one another in this day of massive church law and theological perfection? One doctrine pits itself against another and many doctrines against many others. Each claiming to be the one true doctrine, so many claiming to be true because of a line of apostleship and the laying on of hands from bishop to bishop and yet doctrines and theology’s are different. While one excommunicates another and one claims all others to be heretics, have we forgotten our Lord and Savior?

During this time of fasting and penance should we not be praying not for our will and our way but the for the will of Almighty God and the welfare of the souls of mankind? Fast and pray, do penance, seek God’s will and not some preconceived will of our own theological perfection. The Savior has already arrived, He waits patiently, when He returns there will be no next time. Pray. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us all.

9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Sion, shout for joy, O daughter of Jerusalem: BEHOLD YOUR KING will come to you, the just and saviour: he is poor, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

1 Jesus therefore, six days before the Pasch, came to Bethania, where Lazarus had been dead, whom Jesus raised to life. 2 And they made him a supper there: and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that were at table with him. 3 Mary therefore took a pound of ointment of right spikenard, of great price, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. 4 Then one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, he that was about to betray him, said: 5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? 6 Now he said this, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the purse, carried the things that were put therein. 7 Jesus therefore said: Let her alone, that she may keep it against the day of my burial. 8 For the poor you have always with you; but me you have not always. 9 A great multitude therefore of the Jews knew that he was there; and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead.

10 But the chief priests thought to kill Lazarus also: 11 Because many of the Jews, by reason of him, went away, and believed in Jesus. 12 And on the next day, a great multitude that was to come to the festival day, when they had heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried: Hosanna, blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord, the king of Israel. 14 And Jesus found a young ass, and sat upon it, as it is written: 15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, your king comes, sitting on an ass's colt. 16 These things his disciples did not know at the first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things to him. 17 The multitude therefore gave testimony, which was with him, when he called Lazarus out of the grave, and raised him from the dead. 18 For which reason also the people came to meet him, because they heard that he had done this miracle. 19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves: Do you see that we prevail nothing? behold, the whole world is gone after him.

20 Now there were certain Gentiles among them, who came up to adore on the festival day. 21 These therefore came to Philip, who was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying: Sir, we would see Jesus. 22 Philip comes, and tells Andrew. Again Andrew and Philip told Jesus. 23 But Jesus answered them, saying: The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. 24 Amen, amen I say to you, unless the grain of wheat falling into the ground die, 25 Itself remains alone. But if it die, it brings forth much fruit. He that loves his life shall lose it; and he that hates his life in this world, keeps it unto life eternal. 26 If any man minister to me, let him follow me; and where I am, there also shall my minister be. If any man minister to me, him will my Father honour.

Do we truly heed and repent?

My friends, how often do we claim the name of Jesus the Christ and yet our lifestyle makes a different claim? Or how many stand and preach the word yet live a secret life of idol worship and other sin? Almighty God, in times past has set forth Israel as a warning. Before our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ came in the flesh Israel stood in the name of the Lord. We need to only look at the troubles of Israel when they turned their back to God, look at their scattering throughout the world for centuries.
Look and see how Almighty God dealt with a false people and a false priesthood. Israel said they belonged to the Lord, Israel said they were Abraham’s descendents and yet the Lord said that he did not recognize them. Is it different today through Jesus the Christ?

21 Not every one that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day: Lord, Lord, have not we prophesied in Your name, and cast out devils in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.

Jesus is Lord. I send this warning; as priests, as a people, as a nation, as nations on the earth, as governments that rule nations, to all who claim the Lord, we must understand the transgressions, we must learn from ancient Israel who is there as a guide so that those who claim the Lord do not make the same mistakes. Read and understand that Almighty God will cast us off if we do not continue in His commandments. Understand and then repent, ask for mercy and forgiveness before it is too late.

1 Let there be a trumpet in your throat like an eagle upon the house of the Lord: because they have transgressed my covenant, and have violated my law. 2 They shall call upon me: O my God, we, Israel, know you. 3 Israel has cast off the thing that is good, the enemy shall pursue him. 4 They have reigned, but not by me: they have been princes, and I knew not: of their silver, and their gold they have made idols to themselves that they might perish.

11 Because Ephraim has made many altars to sin: altars are become to him unto sin. 12 I shall write to him my manifold laws, which have been accounted as foreign. 13 They shall offer victims, they shall sacrifice flesh, and shall eat it, and the Lord will not receive them: now will he remember their iniquity, and will visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt. 14 And Israel has forgotten his Maker, and has built temples: and Juda has built many fenced cities: and I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the houses thereof.

1 Unto the end, destroy not, for David, for an inscription of a title, when he fled from Saul into the cave. 2 Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me: for my soul trusts in you. And in the shadow of your wings will I hope, until iniquity pass away. 3 I will cry to God the most High; to God who has done good to me. 4 He has sent from heaven and delivered me: he has made them a reproach that trod upon me. God has sent his mercy and his truth, 5 and he has delivered my soul from the midst of the young lions. I slept troubled. The sons of men, whose teeth are weapons and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. 6 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and your glory above all the earth. 7 They prepared a snare for my feet; and they bowed down my soul. They dug a pit before my face, and they are fallen into it. 8 My heart is ready, O God, my heart is ready: I will sing, and rehearse a psalm. 9 Arise, O my glory, arise psaltery and harp: I will arise early. 10 I will give praise to you, O Lord, among the people: I will sing a psalm to you among the nations. 11 For your mercy is magnified even to the heavens: and your truth unto the clouds. 12 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens: and your glory above all the earth.

Save me, O God, by your name!

My friends, how unworthy are we to face Almighty God? We deem ourselves worthy and yet we sin. How often in a day do we sin against God without even noticing what we have done? We have become callous and cold individually and as nations of people. Hear the warning; heed the warning and repent.

1 Hear the word of the Lord, you children of Israel, for the Lord shall enter into judgment with the inhabitants of the land: for there is no truth, and there is no mercy, and there is no knowledge of God in the land. 2 Cursing, and lying, and killing, and theft, and adultery have overflowed, and blood has touched blood. 3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwells in it shall languish with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of the air: yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be gathered together. 4 But yet let not any man judge: and let not a man be rebuked: for your people are as they that contradict the priest. 5 And you shall fall to day, and the prophet also shall fall with you: in the night I have made your mother to be silent. 6 My people have been silent, because they had no knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will reject you, that you shall not do the office of priesthood to me: and you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

3 Save me, O God, by your name, and judge me in your strength. 4 O God, hear my prayer: give ear to the words of my mouth. 5 For strangers have risen up against me; and the mighty have sought after my soul: and they have not set God before their eyes. 6 For behold God is my helper: and the Lord is the protector of my soul. 7 Turn back the evils upon my enemies; and cut them off in your truth. 8 I will freely sacrifice to you, and will give praise, O God, to your name: because it is good: 9 For you have delivered me out of all trouble: and my eye has looked down upon my enemies.

The Fool has said in his heart!

Often times when things go well we forget God, we believe that we are good and can do all things ourselves and in no need of God. We become fools in this line of thought and forget that without God we can do nothing. If we abandon God then we have taken up with the Devil. There is nothing else to say on the matter. Our corruption will increase until we have removed ourselves from the hand of God. My friends, be the fool, but not the fool who says there is no God, but as the apostle St. Paul said; we are fools for Christ.

1 Unto the end, for Maeleth, understandings to David. The fool said in his heart: There is no God. 2 They are corrupted, and become abominable in iniquities: there is none that does good. 3 God looked down from heaven on the children of men: to see if there were any that did understand, or did seek God. 4 All have gone aside, they are become unprofitable together, there is none that does good, no not one. 5 Shall not all the workers of iniquity know, who eat up my people as they eat bread? 6 They have not called upon God: there have they trembled for fear, where there was no fear. For God has scattered the bones of them that please men: they have been confounded, because God has despised them. 7 Who will give out of Sion the salvation of Israel? when God shall bring back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Do you trust in God or in Riches?

What or who do you put your trust in? Regardless of the times; good or bad, there is only One to place your trust in. Where is your trust?

1 Unto the end, understanding for David, 2 when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul: David went to the house of Achimelech. 3 Why do you glory in malice, you that are mighty in iniquity? 4 All the day long your tongue has devised injustice: as a sharp razor, you have wrought deceit. 5 You have loved malice more than goodness: and iniquity rather than to speak righteousness. 6 You have loved all the words of ruin, O deceitful tongue. 7 Therefore will God destroy you for ever: he will pluck you out, and remove you from your dwelling place: and your root out of the land of the living. 8 The just shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, and say: 9 Behold the man that made not God his helper: But trusted in the abundance of his riches: and prevailed in his vanity. 10 But I, as a fruitful olive tree in the house of God, have hoped in the mercy of God for ever, yea for ever and ever. 11 I will praise you for ever, because you have done it: and I will wait on your name, for it is good in the sight of your saints.

Trust not in your own strength or riches!

1 Unto the end, a psalm for the sons of Core. 2 Hear these things, all you nations: give ear, all you inhabitants of the world. 3 All you that are earthborn, and you sons of men: both rich and poor together. 4 My mouth shall speak wisdom: and the meditation of my heart understanding. 5 I will incline my ear to a parable; I will open my proposition on the psaltery. 6 Why shall I fear in the evil day? the iniquity of my heel shall encompass me. 7 They that trust in their own strength, and glory in the multitude of their riches, 8 No brother can redeem, nor shall man redeem: he shall not give to God his ransom, 9 Nor the price of the redemption of his soul: and shall labour forever, 10 and shall still live unto the end. 11 He shall not see destruction, when he shall see the wise dying: the senseless and the fool shall perish together: And they shall leave their riches to strangers: 12 and their sepulchres shall be their houses for ever. Their dwelling places to all generations: they have called their lands by their names. 13 And man when he was in honour did not understand; he is compared to senseless beasts, and is become like to them. 14 This way of theirs is a stumblingblock to them: and afterwards they shall delight in their mouth. 15 They are laid in hell like sheep: death shall feed upon them. And the just shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their help shall decay in hell from their glory. 16 But God will redeem my soul from the hand of hell, when he shall receive me. 17 Be not afraid, when a man shall be made rich, and when the glory of his house shall be increased. 18 For when he shall die he shall take nothing away; nor shall his glory descend with him. 19 For in his lifetime his soul will be blessed: and he will praise you when you shall do well to him. 20 He shall go in to the generations of his fathers: and he shall never see light. 21 Man when he was in honour did not understand: he has been compared to senseless beasts, and made like to them.

Shout unto the Lord with joy.

The time will come when all nations and people will know the true God. For many it will be too late, far too many have wasted their time and their life on gain here while turning their backs on Almighty God. Now is the time, why do you hesitate? As the Psalmist says in the Psalm below; shout unto the Lord with a voice of joy. The time will come when all will be restored as it should have been from the beginning.

1 Unto the end, for the sons of Core. 2 O clap your hands, all you nations: shout unto God with the voice of joy, 3 For the Lord is high, terrible: a great king over all the earth. 4 He has subdued the people under us; and the nations under our feet. 5 He has chosen for us his inheritance, the beauty of Jacob which he has loved. 6 God is ascended with jubilee, and the Lord with the sound of trumpet. 7 Sing praises to our God, sing you: sing praises to our king, sing you. 8 For God is the king of all the earth: sing you wisely. 9 God shall reign over the nations: God sits on his holy throne. 10 The princes of the people are gathered together, with the God of Abraham: for the strong gods of the earth are exceedingly exalted.

Be still, God is with us!

My friends, we know that the church will suffer persecution as it has from the beginning. We must have patience, prepare spiritually, be prepared for the battle that is already here, it is already within us, everyday we must fight even our own mind in order to do good. Seek the peace of god through Jesus the Christ. All of these things, this turmoil and the wars will end.

1 Unto the end, for the sons of Core, for the hidden. 2 Our God is our refuge and strength: a helper in troubles, which have found us exceedingly. 3 Therefore we will not fear, when the earth shall be troubled; and the mountains shall be removed into the heart of the sea. 4 Their waters roared and were troubled: the mountains were troubled with his strength. 5 The stream of the river makes the city of God joyful: the most High has sanctified his own tabernacle. 6 God is in the midst thereof, it shall not be moved: God will help it in the morning early. 7 Nations were troubled, and kingdoms were bowed down: he uttered his voice, the earth trembled. 8 The Lord of armies is with us: the God of Jacob is our protector. 9 Come and behold the works of the Lord: what wonders he has done upon earth, 10 making wars to cease even to the end of the earth. He shall destroy the bow, and break the weapons: and the shield he shall burn in the fire. 11 Be still and see that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, and I will be exalted in the earth. 12 The Lord of armies is with us: the God of Jacob is our protector.

Hope in God; always!

1 Unto the end, understanding for the sons of Core. 2 As the hart pants after the fountains of water; so my soul pants after you, O God. 3 My soul has thirsted after the strong living God; when shall I come and appear before the face of God? 4 My tears have been my bread day and night, while it is said to me daily: Where is your God? 5 These things I remembered, and poured out my soul in me: for I shall go over into the place of the wonderful tabernacle, even to the house of God: With the voice of joy and praise; the noise of one feasting. 6 Why are you sad, O my soul? and why do you trouble me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance, 7 and my God. My soul is troubled within myself: therefore will I remember you from the land of Jordan and Hermoniim, from the little hill. 8 Deep calls on deep, at the noise of your flood-gates. All your heights and your billows have passed over me. 9 In the daytime the Lord has commanded his mercy; and a canticle to him in the night. With me is prayer to the God of my life. 10 I will say to God: You are my support. Why have you forgotten me? and why go I mourning, while my enemy afflicts me? 11 While my bones are broken, my enemies who trouble me have reproached me; while they say to me day by day: Where is your God? 12 Why are you cast down, O my soul? and why do you disquiet me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance, and my God.

O Lord, be merciful to me!

2 Blessed is he that understands concerning the needy and the poor: the Lord will deliver him in the evil day. 3 The Lord preserve him and give him life, and make him blessed upon the earth: and deliver him not up to the will of his enemies. 4 The Lord help him on his bed of sorrow: you have turned all his couch in his sickness. 5 I said: O Lord, be merciful to me: heal my soul, for I have sinned against you.

Examine yourself, confess and repent.

From the hours this morning we are reminded of the commandments, they are also a part of the confession are they not? When we examine ourselves do we not examine ourselves against the word of God? Examine yourself against the laws of God, be honest and ask forgiveness; be sincere from the heart and you will be forgiven. Confess, repent, worship. Remember the Eucharist and do not take it lightly.

1 And the Lord spoke all these words: 2 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 You shall not have strange gods before me. 4 You shall not make to yourself a graven thing, nor the likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth. 5 You shall not adore them, nor serve them: I am the Lord your God, mighty, jealous, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me: 6 and showing mercy unto thousands to them that love me, and keep my commandments. 7 You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that shall take the name of the Lord his God in vain. 8 Remember that you keep holy the Sabbath day. 9 Six days shall you labour, and shall do all your works. 10 But on the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God: you shall do no work on it, you nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your beast, nor the stranger that is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them, and rested on the seventh day: therefore the Lord blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it. 12 Honour your father and your mother, that you may be longlived upon the land which the Lord your God will give you. 13 You shall not kill. 14 You shall not commit adultery. 15 You shall not steal. 16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour. 17 You shall not covet your neighbor’s house: neither shall you desire his wife, nor his servant, nor his handmaid, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is his.
